Route Map
19.1km | 1,107m Ascent | Total Duration: 3.5-4hrs
A one-of-a-kind Lakeland adventure into the blue hour.
Join us on Saturday 22 May for the Dusk Run – a 19km trail experience that blends golden-hour magic, big mountain terrain, and a memorable journey across Derwentwater.
Your evening begins at Crow Park, where runners will board a private Keswick Launch and glide across the lake to Hawes End. A live musician performs onboard as the light softens across the water, setting the tone for what’s to come.
At 17:30, the run begins. The route climbs steadily through atmospheric woodland and open fellside before breaking onto the rugged trails leading towards Grisedale Pike. The ascent is challenging but hugely rewarding, with expansive views as day shifts gently towards night and the fells slip into dusk.
At the summit, runners are welcomed into a unique moment: an atmospheric, ethereal DJ set playing out across the ridge and a small-batch tasting experience featuring local spirits (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options). It’s a chance to pause, breathe in the evening air and soak up the last of the light.
From there, enjoy a flowing descent back towards Keswick as the colours fade and the first hints of night appear. You’ll return to Crow Park around 20:00–20:30, completing an unforgettable evening in the mountains.
ENTRY OPENS OCTOBER 2026Athletes board the Keswick Launch just around from Crow Park and then start the run from Hawes End and finish in the Festival Village, Crow Park.

Crow Park, Keswick, CA12 5DJ
After crossing Derwentwater on the Keswick Launch, runners disembark at Hawes End Jetty, where the adventure begins on the quiet western shore of the lake. The route immediately heads north on well-made woodland trails, climbing steadily through the lower slopes of Skelgill Bank. This opening section offers soft-footed singletrack beneath mature trees, with brief openings that reveal Derwentwater glowing in the dusk light.
The path then turns west, leaving the lakeside woodland and rising onto more open fellside. The gradient increases as runners ascend towards Causey Pike and Crag Hill, gaining height quickly on a mix of rocky steps and firm, grassy trod. Views expand dramatically here: Derwentwater spreads out to the east while Maiden Moor and High Spy begin to shadow the skyline to the south.
Reaching the high point of the course, the trail contours north east to Grisedale Pike summit, delivering a classic Lakeland ridge-side experience. This section is the most atmospheric of the run – rolling undulations, rugged footing, and sweeping panoramas down Borrowdale, Newlands Valley, and across to the distant line of Blencathra.
The descent begins on fast, flowing singletrack dropping towards Braithwaite continuing to head east through Portinscale and back to the Festival village on Crow Park to enjoy the evening music on the open air stage.
Athlete guides will be sent out a couple of weeks before the event and also available to download here.
