We have a luxury 10 person woodfired sauna located on the shores of the idyllic Derwentwater soaking in the stunning views of the beautiful scenery.
Chill relax and unwind in the soothing heat then take a refreshing and invigorating dip in the lake only a hop skip and jump from the sauna to keep your energy levels high for the evening’s activities.

two-hour safety course for all people getting on the water.
Covering things like identifying the hidden risks, weather effects, safety equipment, and practical solutions to incidents on the water.
With our background in adaptive adventure, we will also cover considerations for keeping our family members and friends safe who live with an impairment.

What to expect…
- To get very wet.
- Some of the sessions are informational and some practical.
- Less focus on the skill of manoeuvring paddle craft.
- To mostly be in the vicinity of the launch point.
- This is about keeping our family safe even when practising, so we will be practising on ability typical adults rather than bringing

family or young individuals to enjoy being on the water in a light hearted session.
There really is no choice about getting splashed, hit with a wet sponge, or squirted – these will all happen.
So will rescuing and (possibly kidnapping) toy ducks.

The standard skill set for controlling an open canoe is to control the vessel from a single side.
It’s probably the biggest skill set leap in open canoeing; this session is dedicated to developing these solo skills.

A journey to Herberts Island for a spark-lit wood-fired-kettle heated (yes, you get a go) hot chocolate, explore and adventure around the island.

What to expect…

In 2024, the conditions were so dry and windy that we opted not to light any fires and used the camp stoves.

The boats will likely be joined together to prevent capsizing and ensure power to push against the wind.
Wellness & Recovery Zone
FORME Recovery is bringing a dedicated wellness and recovery space to this year’s festival.
Designed for athletes and adventurers alike, our recovery zone offers the perfect place to reset, recharge and rebalance.
Participants can experience compression boot therapy, self-led handheld percussion therapy and pre/post-event flush massage delivered by experienced practitioners.
Whether you’re preparing for your next challenge or recovering after the finish line, FORME provides a professional and welcoming space to help you feel your best. Take a moment to pause, recover and reconnect before heading back out to enjoy the rest of the festival.

Accessible Guided Walks
Accessible Guided Walks
Friday and Saturday at 11am and again at 3pm.
Guided walks along the shore of Derwent Water and Cockshot Woods, hosted by Access the Dales. There will be a couple of TerrainHoppers for people to use on the days.
Set off on a beautiful, guided, stile-free circular adventure along the sparkling shores of Derwent Water, before weaving back through the peaceful woodland of Cockshot Wood, with breathtaking views across the lake to Cat Bells and Causey Pike. For an extra highlight, take a short detour to the iconic viewpoint at Friar’s Crag and soak in the scenery. At just over a mile and a half, this family-friendly route is a perfect introduction to the outdoors with Access the Dales.
Cost is £5 per person, with children and a companion going free.
