Daytime Tent Talk
16.30 - 17.30
(not) Sleeping around: My summer Munromance.
Jamie was born and raised in California but has called Scotland home since 2005. As a competitive swimmer growing up, she hated running with a bit of a passion. But the freedom Right to Roam enables and her love of being outside inspired her to get into trail running, mountain biking and sea kayaking across the country – hobbies she shares with her partner, Andy, and friends. She can regularly be found in the local hills, lochs and trails.
Over the past decade she had some success in ultra running – from 80km to 375km; dipped her toes into adventure racing; and completed 2 Munro rounds. But in May 2023 she took on her most daunting goal yet – a continuous, self-propelled Munro round. Two years of planning and the coordination of a small army of support volunteers saw her not only complete the round, but achieve a new world record in the process.
She’ll share her tales of the highs and lows – from double rainbows, deep friendships and espresso brownies; to nasty burns, infected blisters and lightning storms. Come along to hear how a team of friends old and new coalesced around an amazing mountain adventure.
